Hello everyone,
I’m currently working on tuning a Bosch ME7.8.2 ECU and I’m trying to find deeper documentation or a proper tuning guide for this specific system.
Most of the available information online focuses on ME7 / ME7.1 / ME7.5, but ME7.8.2 appears to have several differences in structure and calibration strategy. While the core philosophy still seems torque-based, many of the maps and naming conventions differ, which makes it difficult to directly apply the typical ME7 tuning guides.
I am especially interested in understanding the core control structure of ME7.8.2, such as:
Torque request and torque limitation strategy
Driver wish and torque model interaction
Load calculation and cylinder filling model
Boost control strategy
Main lambda control maps and enrichment strategy
Ignition timing control and knock strategy
VTG turbo control logic (if applicable)
I do have a DAMOS file and defined maps in WinOLS, but I want to properly understand the calibration philosophy and control strategy, rather than just changing values without fully understanding their function.
If anyone has:
Technical documentation
Calibration guides
Or direct experience tuning ME7.8.2
I would really appreciate any help or direction.
I also understand that good information and proper guidance usually isn’t free, and I am fully willing to pay for professional guidance, documentation, or consulting if someone has the knowledge and is open to helping for this exact ECU
Thanks in advance.
