Hi.

Here is a short definition file for Audi 2.8E 12v 174hp engine. It consist of 2 ignition maps, one fuel map and one other map. I have also located something that looks like the rev-limiter.

Update:
The MMS-200 definition file works on 4A0906266 MMS-100 and 8A0906266A MMS-200. The 8A0906266B MMS-300 is posted in the last post, together with an updated xdf for mms-200.

I have learned a little bit about this type of motronic. These Hitatchi motronics was used in the late 80's and early 90's, it was also used on the Audi 2.3 20v 7A 170HP engine. So you can use the definition on both 2.3 and 2.8.

The Hitachi motronics also using the checksum from the eprom/chip memory to identify memory-faults. The checksum is verified in the CPU every time it is loading the memory from the eprom/chip and has to a preset sum. So when maps have been reprogrammed, the ordinary checksum need to be restored. It is only necessary to recalculate with a 16bit checksum. Otherwise the ECU will go inn fault-mode every time the ignition is turned on and the engine will not run over 11-1200 rpm.

Hi,
thanks for sharing this!
I need to learn and was a great help, not much Information for this old controller. Need to work with Tunerpro.

I have a screenshot from a driver (Titanium), there are differences. Can anyone help me to understand more?

1. Ignition Map1 16x16 - 14x16 why?
2. Checksum 007C00 Add:FF 8bit, you say 16 Bit? Need more info...
3. Adress C10 16x1

I need to add the things to Tunerpro xdf and work with this. In future i need to figure out what the other things are and add it. But its not easy i am new.

This engine (AAH) has a switch intake (Saugrohrumschaltung in german), switch the length from long to short at 4100 UpM. Is it possible to find the point and change the switch UpM? The engine is mechanically tuned and the point must set different... How can i find it? Think this is a big thing?

Has anyone more info from this?!?

Please look at the files.

Thanks for help,
Stefan

Hi!

Sorry for the delay of posting.

1. I do not know why the ignition map is like this, but clearly it is different from most others.

2. You got to change the hex in an open space so you reach the last 4 hex (16bit resolution) like your original file. Just open your modified file in a hex reader and calculate your new checksum to be just as the original.

3. You only need to modify the two ignition maps and the fuel map for a stage 1 tune. It is possible to make a MAF tune as well, but I am not that good.

You can buy a stage 1 tune file from me if you want. I make for MMS-100 and 200, about 18hp and 24nm.

When you are done tuning you have to locate a uncoded area, and sett the that many F's to 0's and match the last byte so you reach the same 16-bit checksum as the original 16-bit checksum.

First. Open the original file in a program, for example HxD. Go to Calculation of checksums in the meny area, and calculate a 16-bit checksum on the original file and whrite this down.

Two. When you are finished tuning, open again the tuned file in HxD and search for a bigger area whit only F's, it should be located in the bottom area of the file. Now you have to turn alot of these in the middel of the area into 0's to be able to make the same 16-bit cheksum as you whrote down.

You will understend. Otherwise I can also do the calcualtion for you.

It is not IMMO on these variants, IMMO came on MMS-300 and later. I can not help you on that issue.

Thank you for that! I use your xdf for modifying maps from Audi 7A 20V engine.
Can you briefly explain what KFKES is and how it works?

Hi,
Cool! The KFKES is the fuel map. You have to do dyno or road tune to be able to fine tune the car. But you can adjust it quite much up from 50% to WOT at mid range and higher range of rpm.
