Have a buddy that would like to put catless dps on with his apr tune. I have a feeling this may make the ecu unhappy.

Plan A: Hoping we get lucky and they are already be sorted in the tune.

Plan B: Spacers are easy, but can be hit or miss with the cel.

Plan MacGuyver: I am wondering what would happen if I run the rear o2's, but put a resistor in the signal wire to drop it down a little? Or would that just change the current and not the voltage?

Try spacer and if not succeed go to pr dealer to solve it.

Ecu was bought used so prob going to want the $150 license xfer fee + whatever the testpipe upgrade is + maybe a flash fee.
Knowing that it takes all of 59.7sec to do the code out, seems kind of steep.

I originally got into self-tuning via NefMoto for exactly this reason.  I was looking for a way to fix my readiness/emissions issues.  But I speak from experience, do not try to modify your tuner's tune, even for something simple like o2 delete.  I bricked my ECU when I tried this.  It was a GIAC tune.

I ended up a building a tune from scratch, and boy was it the best decision I ever made.

IMO...new tune.

I hate O2 spacers and APR test pipe file only blocks cat efficiency code.

I hear you guys.
Car has been very good so afraid to change much. I think the RPk04s like the apr tune, at least it has for the last 40k hard miles. I kid you not, 40k hard ones!
The only reason for this change is the flex sections in the piggies are shot.

Hopefully already has that option in the tune. If not give the spacers a go.

Still interested if there is a way to knock the signal down electronically to the rears. Cant be as easy as a resistor, can it?

Anyone who uses the word "predetonation" does not really understand IEC's and should be taken with a grain of salt.
I am also not positive a diode is going to do the trick on ME7, but you can try.

I noticed some inconsistencies in there also. The voltage drop thing seems legit though.
Im kinda hoping the tune isnt already de-cdkat-ed so I can test it now!

I'll break it down for you.

Detonation refers to abnormal combustion, which happens after the spark event.
To be more exact, during normal combustion the flame front propagates fairly uniformly through the entire cylinder from the spark plug. During abnormal combustion, the heat of compressing the mixture together with the heat of the nearing flame front causes pockets of fuel in the cylinder to spontaneously ignite before the flame front reaches them, leading to many individual uncontrolled combustion events, faster combustion and causing the energy peak to happen before TDC and causing peak cylinder pressure to skyrocket.

Pre-ignition refers to fuel auto igniting before the spark plug fires. This can happen due to the fact that some part of the cylinder is hot enough to ignite the fuel as it is being compressed. For example a spark plug that runs too hot.

"Pre-detonation" does not exist. It is a term coined by those who do not have the slightest clue what is going on in the combustion chamber and have heard something here and there, and then made up some term.
