I have a MTM stage 2 chipped ECU

4Z7 907 551 L

I swapped it into my 2002 Allroad. Cranks and fires once, but dies.
I assume Immobilizer.

How can I get the ECU to work with my Allroad?
I have VAGcom.

Thanks.

if you think the immo is killing it, then my first course of action would be to turn off the immo.

Actually, I have been considering writing an article about immo for the S4 wiki.

Anybody have a good starting point?

I think the wiki is a good idea. It would have been nice to find it all in one spot rather than all of the searching. Might even stop some of the questions on it. I'd reiterate that the 95040 has the immo data, and a link to the 95040 immo/vin deleted bin/.kp file.

So, as usual it's up to me to gather all the information into a single location, edit it, and then take shit when it has inaccuracies from know-it-all types who are unwilling to fix the inaccuracies themselves because they "spent so much money learning this"?

Sounds like fun! Smiley

nyet you could also just link s4wiki to the "virgin" prepatched immo files that unpacks to adapt to ecu on first ignition Smiley Like this one: http://nefariousmotorsports.com/forum/index.php?topic=542.msg4157#msg4157

masterj:

I have zero experience with immo work (since NA S4s dont have them), so i'd rather not just link files and not really know what they do...

I'd rather put together some sort of coherent writeup and a description of the changes made to the images.. then probably only make stock images available.

Also, since s4wiki is primarily for ME7.1(.1) it would be good to have AZB and BEL specific immo guides Smiley

This is my understanding though (pardon me if i have it wrong, im totally clueless when it comes to immos)

The ECU runs the immo routine (in the normal program flash area), which consults the cluster, and compares it to the EEPROM (if the EEPROM says the immo is enabled).

To keep immo functionality, the EEPROM has to be paired with the cluster
To disable the immo, either flash the ECU with a non-immo program, or patch the EEPROM.
I have no idea how the "auto pair" thing works... you'll have to explain it to me ..

Do i have it right?

There is actually a post which tells exactly what to do to disable the immobilizer.
For pairing procedures you can try the ross-tech homepage.

I was doing research on this and compiling a small writeup for myself.  I'll be willing to throw that up when I'm done (though I can't guarantee any timeframe).  I'm also planning on doing a writeup on how to add immo3 to North American S4's.
