So honest question, would you guys be prepared to pay something for such functionality?

The idea is to have the ME7L log parser itself for WinLog, which is fully functional at the moment.
To that I am planning to add virtual COM port ability to stream the data in a certain format, and then a TunerPro adx definition so you can have live data tracing on the maps.
I already have done all this on the old M2.3.X Motronic for the Audi I5 engines.
WinLog also supports Zeitronix, Techedge, 14point7 and some other wideband controllers, so it is possible to pull data from multiple sources and have it in the same log.

But yeah, I have so much going on right now, that I just can't see myself finding the time to release this for free.

I would pay for it  Smiley

And we would just end up with more abandonware.

The only thing I would pay for is source code.

A real time fully customizable dashboard with line and bar graphs, gauges, etc assignable to any single/combination RAM variable...that I would pay for.

Maybe we can convince Tony to sell us the source for his logger?

If not, look forward to the release in Summer 2017!

Prj has done it already

Here's a link to a small clip I did when I tried it.

http://youtu.be/66kree2yA8A

It will log any variable in any format.

Yea, that's almost exactly what I was thinking. Would be nice to not have to parse ME7L, but one can't be too picky.

Sooo...I'm confused, where did you get this?

From me.
I just need to get myself together and make a version I am going to sell for say 25 EUR, and give it for free to some people who contribute.

The problem is that right now the driver is a little annoying to use due to the limitations of win log (need to configure via .ini and need to remove and readd the driver every time you add or remove variables).

So I am waiting for the winlog author to make some modifications to the winlog plugin system to allow rescanning on the fly.
After that's done, my driver will be a lot more user friendly to configure, as I can provide a UI.

Shit I would pay $100 for motivation for you man if it helps  Smiley
Anything like this that helps the tuning process is worth having in my mind.

Things it would have to have for me to consider paying:

- horizontal and vertical grid lines (10 each)
- adjustable min/max ranges for individual inputs
- selectable inputs (to show or hide them on line graph)
- pause button (to pause graph but not logging)
- one click to start/restart logging (need to auto name file with timestamp)
- two/three clicks to switch input groups then start logging again
- maximum graph space on screen
- input lines with different colors

think APR ECUx + VAG_Scope

I'm a line graph guy. I like to have my eyes on the road during a run and then be able to look at data for that run immediately after. With gauges the data is gone after run (expect in log of course).

Just my preference

WinLog does all that and more ...
I just wrote a bridge between WinLog and ME7Logger.

Making progress on this.

WinLog's author has sent me the first version that supports somewhat dynamic variable population.
A few more things to fix in WinLog, but so far it is looking much better.
I modified the driver as well and now it is possible to add the driver once and then use the settings button to choose the ME7Logger log file from the UI.
No more obscure .ini files.

The main limitation that is still present is that the maximum count of variables WinLog supports from a single driver is 64, but I am working to get that limitation lifted as well.

Is this the "WinLog" logger you guys are talking about? http://www.devtechnics.com/winlog.htm
If not, this is a generic logger that can do up to 64 variables or something like that. there is a free version available for DL.

Yes, but it needs a driver to get any meaningful info from anywhere...
I will ping WinLog's author again.

Will your driver work with ME7.5 hopefully?

It works with ME7Logger.
Anything ME7Logger works with, it works with.
