Avira didn't like it at all, I ignored it and kept a close eye, and so far so good.

No differences noted after going ahead...

Anybody else's anti-virus reporting that the vag commander exe contains a virus?

If you are ever unsure you can upload the offending file or archive to a site like VirusTotal.com and it will scan it with about 45 different anti-virus applications which can give you a better idea if there is a concern.

I fixed Keith's diagram so it's relevant to our cars. Before it was only accurate on 99< vehicles with the analog clock.

Can someone please explain the gray connector,

My car does not have any gray connector but the new cluster has.

What does 11 - enable?

How do I kill the warnings I get with the new cluster?
Should I ground pin 14, 15 and 16?

Thank you for the info.
brgds

If your cluster is lacking the gray connector it means your old cluster will have a red one. Grey is for the digital clock clusters, whereas red is for the analogs. Repin the harness to match the pinouts for the cluster provided in this thread on the first page. I have a spare gray connector I could drop in the mail if you need it. LMK.

Thank you for the offer, ddillenger but I'll get one from the junkyard.

My car don't have a red one, it has a green and blue. (a3 8l -00 first ed)

I have setup the harness as per instructions in the thread but how can I turn on all of the LED's as it would be when the headlights are turned on?

The v3.6 of the software doesn't recognize my KKL cable. It just says cannot open port upon startup. Then closes. I tried changing the port # in the tester settings .txt file but it still wont find my cable. V2.5 sees the cable, but won't connect to my cluster. Any BTDT?

Have you changed the connection to k-line from the default CAN?
