It is worth noting I have a 2.7t.
Forgot about that part-lol.
I have also just done the timing belt, waterpump, valve cover gaskets, cam seals, and repaired all leaks. What I need now are the gaskets that must be replaced when removing the turbos.

what airbox?
Honestly, I wasn't sure. Right now I have the stock airbox with a mandrel elbow and a AEM dry cone filer. Was figuring on keeping something similar, but maintaining the stock look.

if you are going with stock airbox, you might consider cutting a hole in the bottom of the airbox (like the rs4, but bigger) and forgoing the whole cone filter thing. i find the MAF readings to be a lot more stable (and linear) maybe add a debris screen.

What I don't like in the hole in the bottom of the airbox is the huge intake sound. First i had a lot of small holes which made it whistle (kind of funny) then I cut the whole side out and I am replacing the paper filter every 5k km. Works like a charm.

As it sits, I have 6" of straight pipe prior to the maf, and a flow straightener in the intake. Maf readings in this configuration are indistinguishable from stock. I'll obviously play with it until I get a linear flow, and if that isn't possible I'll just buy an rs4 airbox. I was considering a BEL as I no longer have ICMs, and the mounts irk me, despite being under the cover. What I don't like in the hole in the bottom of the airbox is the huge intake sound. This is what I did on my gt car. I really like keeping things looking factory at this stage in my life.

Since you have an RS4 MAF already, it makes sense for you to get an rs4 airbox and then cut the hole in the bottom, unless you can make the flap open automatically at higher RPMs

You should take a peek.

Being in NA I feel as though I get cheated out of all the cool cars. Ideally, I'd love an AWD a6 TDI with a 6 speed.
I have you euro guys for that. lol.

Well you also get cheated out of the $2 / litre gas You guys don't have A6 TDI quattros? My friend has a B5 A4, he swapped the dead 2.5 TDI engine with a 1.9 PD TDI using the 6 speed transmission from the 2.5 engine, the beast eats 4 litres of diesel / 100km...
