Hardware differences between the same Motronic series (same car infact!)
« on: March 31, 2013, 11:31:28 AM »
Guys. I am working on a Motronic ME7.2 system and to be honest am nearly finished! My question is relating to Hardware revisions. It’s a BMW. There appeard to be at least two hardware versions of the engine DME. There seems to be two versions of main firmware; which appear related to the hardware version. I am running the later firmware in my early DME! All seems to work perfectly. You can only buy the latest hardware version from BMW.
I wonder what the difference is; the Bosch hardware version numbers are different as well so I assume something has changed.
What happens in the VAG world; presumably the hardware part number of the Motronic DMEs change with you guys as well?
