Different bootrom. Run both flashes through ME7Check and compare them.

looks like you're trying to flash an encrypted file. Vast or APR would be my guess.

It looks like it SHOULD work. It bricks the ecu after the flash?

Do both cars have the same hardware configurations? If the ecu bricks, there's a hardware difference. Try to find a flash that works with the current ecu and your car.

both are audi tt , 1.8 T , both are 180 hp...

p.s why does the 8n0 906 018 S have 3 checksum errors in me7checker?because of the VAST tune?

HA

I knew it was VAST or APR. They change everything around. Yes, that's why. I doubt it'll help, but in order to use the VAST tune on another ecu you need to copy the eeprom to the new ecu as well. You'd still be able to connect, so I doubt that's the issue. Why not use the S software?

hmm..i know the tune is in corelation with the eeprom BUT...the vast tune is in the 8n0 906 018 S file..and i need the 018 A map into the S ecu..so..it isn't about the tune..weird....

...A ecu is FWD and ...S should be NA Car with quattro and maybe ESP recall

Im not sure this will work within another ecu.

Would suggest to flash stock files to try it.

I posted my stock 8N0906108S (ATC) file in the original ECU section a long time ago. Just search for it. And you're luck since there's even a .ols file I made for it.  If you want your maps from the A ecu, then you'll need to find those definitions and copy the maps over manually onto the S.  Probably not much chance they will copy over directly.
Copying the EEPROM might also work to get the A software on the S ecu. I'm not sure if there are any hardware differences.
