Hi All ,

Am I correct in saying one of the ways to cure overboost , would be to re-tune the KFLDIMX in the region of the overboost  ? Lower the values ? S4 Wiki says that if actual is lower than requested you should increase KFLDIMX , so I figure the opposite applies to the region of overboost ( 3000 - 4500 rpm - K04-23)

Thanks

It depends on the type of overboost.

KFLDIMX should be tuned (roughly) to where you think your long term WGDC (pre-linearization) should settle at for a given boost/rpm

If that doesn't solve your problem, and you are overshooting on ramp, you'll need to re-investigate your PID (Q2 in particular)

Nyet ,

I have seen that a few tuners pick this up in the mid range , from stock , this on the BAM engine , 8N0 906 018 BJ/BQ ect . My k04 is overshooting by at least 0.2 bar , so I figured I could use this to dull it down a bit .
What exactly is meant by  long term WGDC (pre-linearization) ?

So perhaps I should look at making the Q2 7.5% in the midrange vs 9 % stock . Am I on the right path ?

Thanks for the help

waste gate duty cycle, before KFLDRL

do NOT touch Q2 until you properly set up both KFLDIMX and KFLDRL!
