When you select a file to flash, does it load the file into memory then or when you press the button to flash? As in, If I make changes to a file and then want to flash a file of the same name, do I have to re-select it or can I just flash it?

Load the file, then move it before hitting flash.

Only have to check once, seems worth it for piece of mind.

No, it reads it straight from the file every time flashing. You don't need to reselect it.
