Buddy just picked up a 02 6mt stg3 s4and is having probs with torque monitor 2, limit exceded  code and a hard limp. Will throw a code and pretty much shut down until key is cycled when cruising 5th in the twisties.

PO says the tune is set for instaboost and not to drive it at low rpm/high load.
Think this is a prob with the tune or just needs a control limit map loosened up?
What map would I be looking for to open the limits and keep it from shutting down on him or is this something else.

Oh yeah, still running n75. No mbc.
Thx much

Either something is wrong with the car or its bad tune.  Likely bad tune.

Thanks dreh

Car is tiptop and runs like a raped ape.
Has done this for the last ~150,00mi, just been driving around it.

Was curious if there was a map that sets the limits and if its safe to adjust them so it wont throw the code?

perhaps Tony will chime in, but I suspect there will be a map with a set of limits.  Perhaps it wasn't modified.

Could be a fault with the KFMIRL & KFMIOP maps tuned wrong can give the above codes.

I am pretty sure that this is just a load limit map that needs to be increased. I will have to double check my code at home to see which map specifically sets this error code.

You should double check these maps though:
    RAMPASR
    KFMIZUFIL/KFMIZUNS
    KFMPED_/KFMPNS_
    RLVMXN/RLVSMXN
    KFMIOP

Thx guys

Its a pro tuned file so hopefully they will fix it. Hopefully doesnt matter that it has been on the road for the last year or two.

If not i have a galletto and a couple 409 cables on the way from kecool.com. Claimed to be ft232rl chip. We'll see when the slow boat gets here

I don't have anything in my notes regarding the torque monitor limits. The S4Wiki tuning guide, or the 1800 pages of ME7 documentation is probably your best bet.

Been doing some heavy reading of those two things. Do see some stuff on tq limits on the wiki but looks like they are more for the autos. Did see them in the Mbox xdf so maybe play with them later. Thx
