Get a DVOM and go to town. There are 3 that I use.

Assuming boot mode is possible. How would one disable the ABS? I just need to disable the reporting over the gateway.
VCDS log shows this in the 01 Engine module
Quote
17931 - Crash Signal from Airbag Controller
            P1523 - 35-00 - Implausible Signal
18057 - Powertrain Data Bus
            P1649 - 35-00 - Missing Message from ABS Controller

Are you actually getting an abs light or just the brake warning light?

Not sure about the actual light, I opened the cluster and painted the LED's black. But I believe they were on and that's why I painted them. In fact, I think both ABS and brake pad warning lamps were on.

The warning is on the multifunction display. It says: "STOP, Service Manual" every time it does, the dash "Dings" an alarm. This message cycles over and over. I did open the cluster and de-solder the buzzer but the display cannot be cleared. The same display also reports outside air temp and fuel economy along with every other engine related problem. I can only see temp and economy for 2 seconds when the car first starts. If I can interrupt the ABS signal, the system will be fully functional.

Normally the ABS reports status to the ECU. Since I don't have ABS, it is in constant alarm.

Nobody I'm aware of can program out the alarm from the cluster and the cluster shows no codes.

Here is the entire scan... BTW, the air bag code only lights up the lamp and does not effect driveability.

Read the tune, email it to me (please don't post it openly), Send me a list of the DTC's in the engine computer with the file and I'll manually remove them from the flash. If you still get a warning, more investigation will be needed.

Awesome! It will take me a few days to get back to you.

I don't want to post the file openly since it is 034's proprietary tune.

Now is it as simple as grounding the pin?
1) disconnect battery
2) ground pin
3) turn key on
4) Connect battery
5) remove ground at pin
6) read flash

Is that it? Do I use the NefMoto or do I need a third party program to read from boot?

I too am intrigued about removing these from ME7.5 WB converted cars. They have no bearing on adaptions but scare the customers seeing it because they expect a clean code read. The issue is this, The cars are early ME7.1's and the component parts won't support these missing parts being wired in.
Should i convert the P code to hex and  dig further through the hex?

TIA

Hi, Did this ever work? I too have no ABS and the cluster isn't happy, i get a STOP Brake fault Service Manual message on the multi function display, the buzzer has long gone!

I coded ABS out of the CAN gateway but message wont go.

VW 20v 1.8T AWT me7.5 ecu and immo3 dash from 2002 Passat

Any ideas? I've been through Ross Tech's stuff.. and cant find anything, is there a way to trick the ecu that the ABS is fine?

I have a dump of the dash if that helps anyone please.

Kind regards
Nick

The ECU is a 4B0 906 018 BG. Dazq tried to help me via remote Teamviewer. 034 Motorspot locked the ECU and it can't be read. I opened the case in hopes to ground pin 24, boot mode but they epoxied all over the eprom. I think I will do more damage trying to remove the epoxy.

Not sure what to do. I guess I need to take it back to 034 for an update.

Any ideas?
oh t knife the ide of the flash chip just enough so you can get to the boot pin

Simply code out ABS via VCDS in ECU. That will get rid of DTC in ECU, but i don't know is it posible to code it out cluster with VCDS

would CAN_C and CAN_R have any effect upon trying to resolve this?
 Curious question out of academics
