Hey guys, I know you are mostly ME7 crew but due to awesomeness some people possess here i feel obliged to post this on this forum as well :-)

got a Mercedes E320 CDI 2005 with 5 speed automatic transmission. Transmission itself is electronically solenoid controlled. I was wondering if it's possible that any maps are triggered inside EDC16 ECU when transmission switched between C(comfort) and S(sport) mode? Or if it's even possible to make some kind of map switching that is dependant on transmission mode?

That would be awesome.

I am suspecting there is some kind of message from transmission to ECU on canbus about maximum torque as is the case with new VAG DSG transmissions. Is there any way to ignore this message?

I am also attaching ori from ECU and I was wondering if somebody could tell me what following maps are and what they do:

83A4A
83EA0
D065E
D1736
F2B66
EC5CC (seems to be some kind of boost limiter but I don't understand Y axis and when this map is used)

What is the factor/offset for torque limiter map?

ps: I am very new and just trying to understand how all this works. Thanks!

83ea0 map based smoke limiter
d1736 conversion map, used to calculate fuel quantity for specified torque
ec5cc is not a boost limiter, it is correction of a map sensor reading, based on temperaure.\

d0788 20x1 torque limiter

I don't like these informal names.

Smoke limiter
Driver wish

It's stupid.

I'd say that it is just different terminology used for diesel ecus.. instead of functional abbreviations on motronic, when people speak about diesel maps, "descriptive" names are used often.. anyway, what names would you suggest to reffer to those maps ?

Considering that Smoke Limiter is called Rauchbegrenzung in Damos and Drivers Wish Zugwunschmoment I find your statement somewhat odd.
Do you prefer that German names are used?

Or do you prefer to call Smoke Limiter FlMng_rLmbdSmkLim0_MAP ?
And Drivers wish AccPed_trqEng0_GMAP ?

Diesel Acronyms are a lot less memorable, so maybe sometimes you should be careful what you wish for (pun intended).
