Fairly sure it's similar to the effect of letting the air out of a balloon with the end pulled tight. It's not leaking, just flapping near the transition form vac to pressure.

N249 intact. DVs are tested and fine they are 710Ns I bought new about 8 months ago. No leaks.

So, although my issues may be slightly different to the OP (the rs6 comes with 710P valves which have softer springs) as the symptoms are identical, I think the input is relevant. My 710N valves are brand new and have always made the noise.
Yesterday I made changes to the n249 maps SVDLDUVS and KFSDLDSUA and the noise has since stopped. Obviously I'll monitor it over the next while.
I'd be surprised if an intercooler swap caused enough variance on the high pressure side of the valve to require a change, but I'd also be keen to know if changing these maps helps too.

What maps did you alter, mind posting of a screen shot of the changes so I can give it a try?

I just altered the SVDLDUVS and KFSDLDSUA maps mentioned. As you're running an S4, you dont need to get fancy - try adding +15% to all values in both maps & see if it helps. My Rs6 is a bit different and i had to copy some of the s4 values over as one of the tables was zero'd across the board.

SHOW ME THE RAND!
^^ I'm in a good mood today though, so here's a bone.... You'll need SDLDSUA instead of KFSDLDSUA as the S4 has no nmot axis for this map. Map addresses are for 8D0907551M (360857) SDLDSUA (16x1) = 0x11119 SVDLDUVS (8x1) = 0x196F5 Factors and other stuff can be had from the fully defined G box file that's floating around.

I told mallard I'd give him the addresses for 3.4 rand (roughly 34 cents). I was just messing with him I sent him an xdf with them included last night. Still don't have my rand

We might have to unionize. My rand still hasn't arrived.

So this hasn't eliminated the problem but has made it better... Ultimately I think I'm going to have to get some forged piston type diverters as this noise is quite annoying when cruising on the highway under light throttle situations.
