Hello,

My name is Igor, and I own a German A4, equipped with the 2.4 30v APS 165hp engine (not available in the USA).
First I would like to say thanks to everyone in the forum. Your posts have really helped me.
I live in Brazil and here the gasoline contains anything between 22 and 30% andhydrous alcohol, so, Audi adapted the cars to run with our very bad, low octane, gasoline/acohol mixture. The only difference I noticed up to now, is that ECU adaptation channel #10 was set to 179, instead of the default 128. Value is locked and can't be changed through VCDS.
My MIL (CEL) light is deactivated. I checked wiring, found no issues. Light never turns on when ignition is turned on, but it turns on during output tests in VCDS. Not really a big issue as I own a fully registered VCDS cable, but I would like to have an operational MIL.
I would like to compare my file with another one. I now suspect a little more about issues with my bin file as it contains 32 checksum errors. Except for the non-functional MIL, car runs fine. I am facing a little issue due to a known vaccum leak (waiting for new TBI gasket to arrive), but except for that, car runs perfectly fine. This is the fourth A4 I find here with the same issue. OBD and CEL are not mandatory here. Audis are very rare here.
My car is a B5 but came with Immo 3. I have already backed up the 95040 bin (and confirmed my SKC - Thanks!). I should have no problems if I load another eeprom file, correct? Does the 1024kb bin file contain sensitive information, like VIN number, SKC and etc?
I am a Mechanical Engineer, but I am not a programming expert, so any help is aprecciated. No issues in retrieving the BINs from my ECU though. Another bin would help me a lot, as I could compare the files.

Another useful info:

Bosch Motronic 7.1

ECU Hardware Number: 0261206779
ECU Software Number: 1037354045

Hello,

Thanks!
Unfortunately your file is absolutely the same as mine (compared with Tuner Pro). So, Audi didnĀ“t modify the software in the main Eeprom file.
I still have a deactivated CEL. Do you think I have a faulty cluster? Or can the CEL be deactivated inside the 95040 immo eeprom or cluster eeprom?
I finally solved the lean codes issue, but it was annoying having to connect VCDS everytime to check due to the deactivated CEL.

Thanks again for helping! One more thing out of my list!
Regards,

Hello ANDR,

Forgot to ask. Do you know if the car that was using this bin had a working CEl/MIL light?
Was it an European model?

Thanks again,

Hello Andr,

Thanks a lot for the quick reply.
Do you have more information about the car equiped with this ECU? I mean. If it has oxygen sensors after catalyst, auxiliary electrical vaccum pump, etc?

Thanks again,
Igor,
