Can someone plz shed some light regarding this issue, My 1997 a4 1.8 t ecu code 8D0 907 557 T can not be remapped or flashed via OBD ii it can only be chipped, A local garage said they could install the Golf 1.8 t ecu code 06A 906 018 CG to my a4 and reprogram it to work, so then it can be flashed or remapped, Reasons for the remap is new hardwear fitted, K04 turbo with tubular manifod, Turbo back long life exhaust system, large front mount intercooler, bailey diverter valve, The garage was also going to install 440cc injectors with a R36 golf Air maf sensor, along with the remapped file but said 1st to put my ecu origional file on to make sure it runs ok on the golf ecu, they say they have done this many times before, only thing they wanted £1800, hahaha so i bought the golf ecu, 440cc injectors, R36Golf air Maf Sensor, Now im Looking for my original ecu map file to download on to the golf ecu, like i said my original ecu can not be read or flashed, CAN ANYONE PLEASE HELP, or does any one know the orional map file for this ecu 8D0 907 557 T ? i have vag com & KWP2000+ software inc cables, bench harnes etc, Protune, etc

Hi,
Just read your post. I think i'm in the same boat as you. Have the same wish. Have k04-remapped ecu (557 E - M3.82 ecu) and want to go flashable (like your 018 CG - ME3.83)
We only need a good M3.83 damos/a2l or tunerpro definitionfile. then a conversion can be made in a proper way.
It would be extremely nice, if someone can donate this file, from any 3.83 ecu over here. It's purely for educational purposes.
About your injectors.. what make/number are them 440's ? Be very sure, that the spraypattern is correct for the older wide-port-heads.. otherwise it will never run right. At this moment i'm opting for volvo green giants... But still am searching for the correct injector for my AEB big port head. The old bosch green- tops are made for single valve intakes, and do not work correct.
Thanks,
PvL

If Galletto or KWP2000Plus flashers support flashing the ECU, that would be the easiest way to go.

@ linken8te :
Dodge Ram Injectors 440cc, same spray pattern -> surprise me with a make/number of these injectors.. I've been properly searching and asking peeps.. No satisfying answer yet... (yes, the USRT-genesis injectors...) but i want a oem-solution from bosch or another fuelinjector manuf, if possible.
Thanks,
PvL

ok so been reading around on nefmoto forums, i understand a little more now, these can not be read only flashed, so on that note thats why the tech at the garage was gonna use the agu m3.8.3 ecu, so it can at least be flashed with the new file, i found this article that says about the aeb and agu software are 99% practically the same, and both are dbw, >>>> Although AEB & AGU engines are mechanically similar it software code is a little different, but basically all uses the very similar ECU map, almost 99% equal between software versions or revisions. The main problem with DBC (drive-by-cable) engine it is lack of live tunability and as that are old engines that was harder to tune, not many people still support it. If fact seems to me that an special or not so common software/OBD cable was needed to reflash these Bosch M3.8.x ECUs. Many of the maps done for that ecus/engines need to be emulated and/or tested before use it, so surley Tony there must be a way to write a tunned 1.8t AEB 8D0 907 557 T ecu file to the 1.8t AGU 06A 906 018 CG ecu file, if the softwares are that simular then i could write or find a tuned AEB file and install, im very new to this but spend every day and night investigating, please coild you assist,

ok more to report, iv been hard at this for a good month and got some good results, i found out the 06A 906 018 CG me3.8,3 ecu will plug straight in and run on AEB 1.8t 8D0 907 557 T me3.8.2, well appart from the immobilizer issue but i found out how to recode using vag com, after the imo light went out it started and ran like a dream, iv had this running for 12 days now and then vag comed it for faults and so far so good, it has thrown a cell on air bag but i also found out how to recode to the me3.8.3, so awsome my car is now flashable, but not readable as this can not be done regardless, only flashed, obviously with 12v to pin 43, i find it easy to unplug and connect straight to bench harnes, it can be done in car but needs the 12v still, also mpps is the tool i found that can write to these ecu,iv also managed with kwp2000 cable but using vagme7 flasher software, next step i found a 06A 906 018 CG origianal file and ajusted using win ols demo, i recently bought a 8D0 907 557 T ECU with a super chips chip in it and removed the chip from socket and used a chip reader to access the info, i then compaired this to the me.3.8.3 file in winols and adjusted to exact match as the chip info, after completed i flashed the new programed file and hey presto, im running exact same power experience as the chipped ecu, now all i got to do is more tweaking for more power, i have 440cc injectors and R36 air maf ready to fit then to adjust file accordingly in win ols, il keep you's posted, im hoping stage 3 by time im finished,

Hi linken8te,
You've been busy i see ! Good progress on the M3.83 stuff there !
Was interested in your superchips-chip. Can you post a picture of that so we can see it ?
I'm also in the progress of doing the same thing. Have a K04-015 /K03s-alike tune for the older 557E box, but want it converted to the 018 AQ box ( sorta the same as your 018 CG box)
Thanks,
PvL

wow, great work over here guys! I'm interested in this as well... I have a friend with and aeb engine that i would like to tune. I will see if i can get a hold of a 06A 906 018 CG ecu and see what i can manage, I think he will be running a gt 30 series when his build is done. would you be kind enough to post up the stock 06A 906 018 CG bin. maybe we can get spen to run it through his program and see if we can get a proper damos file to work with. that would be much better than tweaking of a superchips file. I'm not sure how big the map difference would be between an aeb and atw ecu's, i hope they are somewhat similar.

is the atw ecu dbc? these aeb's and agu's are dbc, hence why there compatible, heres the 06A 906 018 CG bin file, let me know the results if he can manage a damos file, would be good, let me know if you need any thing else,

Thanks, atw is dbw, but the load and timing maps should be similar, at least that's what i hope.

@ linken8te :
Let's break this huge pile of info a bit down, on the previous message :
" iv also managed with kwp2000 cable but using vagme7 flasher software "
writing the M3.83 ? or ? please explain. I have a kwp2000 and a mpps, and didn't gave the kwp with me7 software a go on this one yet.
"removed the chip from socket and used a chip reader to access the info"
Correct me if i'm wrong, but thats a crypto-board supachipz uses to prevent guys like you and me, to read-out the original tuned content in 1 hit... I would like to know if your read-out was garbage or how did you do this ?
If you would not like to publish this info right here, i still would appreciate a pm abouth it.
Perhaps Spen can help us out with a basic damos-setup for this CG-box to get us going.
Cheers,
PvL
