Audi a4 1.8t Quattro avant has this.. Bloody annoying if you ask me, I thought it was a fault initially, changed clutch switch, brake switch still did it.. Tried a later map and it was gone.. Never bothered to look into why it happened it.. |

if I remember correctly it was supposed to help with getting into the next gear faster. |

thats my thoughts but the RS4 in the Video is doing this without any software modification and there is no hardware fault...  is this a standard feature in OEM RS4 data?? |

No, the RPS should not drop to prevent lag when shifting... in ME7 there is a MAP called KFTVSA - Retard time for overrun fuel cut-off. This MAP is forbidding overrun fuel cut for a given time when clutch is pressed for shifting. But I don't think this is the reason for the behaviour in the video. |

you want the trans input shaft assembly rpm to, yes. But only to the rpm of the next gear. As long as the clutch assembly is funtioning properly, engine rpm doesn't matter until you are ready to engage the clutch. |
