Boot mode

How do I put my 98 a4 aeb into boot mode not using a bench flasher? I want to flash through the obd2 port but I need to out my ecu into boot mode anyone know how to do this?

um no. there is no bootmode on m3/5.

If there's no boot mode how can I read/write my ecu without bench flashing giac and apr said it can be done via obd2 port. But they said it needs to be in boot mode to do so

read? desolder and use a programmer. write? use the proper tool.

What am I desildering the chip or ?? I'm new to the flashing audi I've done Hondas and I do realize there is a lot more to audis that's why I want to read my ecu and write my own program for my car

You can start by dropping the text speak and using proper punctuation.
These ECU's can only be *written* over the port (and even then, it is tricky if the car is immobilised).
To read your original you need to desolder the 29f200 and read it in a programmer.
