So I finally got my license from mtx and made a quick stg 1 for a BEL using a 551S file as the base. After nef says the flash was successful, the car just cranks. Doing this on an 03 Allroad tip. Anyone have any issues like this?

I had the same problem with the 551S.
I'd suggest switching to the 551R flash, it won't give you this problem and it's better defined than the 551S.  If you want to stick with the 551S flash - you need to flash your car, cycle the ignition, reconnect with nefmoto and then read the flash. Once that's complete cycle the ignition again and you should be good.

Really? Thanks alot. I have the auto generated xdf for the R, but haven't started to organize it better. Guess that's going to have to be moved up on my to do list.

One quick question, Do the tip BEL files and the manual BEL files interchange? Can't seem to find an explination and it seems like R & S were used on either.

I know 551R works for both, I used it when my car was a Tip and still do after my 6 speed swap. I'd assume 551S is as well but I haven't had any reason to look into it.

Great thanks. Will start fresh this evening.

Do you have a good xdf for the R? Seems like the S one I have is off...

Ran into the same issue as you, but cycling and reading after the flash never did work for me.  Flashing an R saved the day.

The S and AA software is different than the R; everything is off a little as you say. There are a couple of semi-complete S and AA XDFs in the XDF folder is you want to stay with the S.  The attached R XDF has served me well.  (I have a more complete one with various axes defined but don't have access to it at work.  If I think of it tonight I will post.)

551R is probably the most well defined ME7.1.1 file available on this site. Look for the mappac for winOLS.

i had a similar issue on a manual 03 allroad. after flashing both the software again and the immo file again i got it to start. i have found that it is best to reflash the immo file again after flashing the software on. it seems sometimes the eeprom can be corrupt by the software. its funny because i bench flashed the ecu in bootmode so i had to immo defeat in order to flash it and that works fine then go to put in the car and cranks and cranks throws a code 'Programming Incomplete ect..." so after reflashing the ecu eprom then eeprom it starts no problem.

Well, I switched to R box and went through organizing the xdf. Looks like KFMIRL is not defined and no LAMFA axis. Anyone have these addresses?

Have I mentioned before what a PITA reorganizing xdf's is?!

Thanks for all the input everyone.

Interesting, you are right about KFMIRL.  Thought the version on my work computer was the same as the one on my tuning computer but obviously not.  And sorry for the delay.  Thought Nefmoto was down but I had a problem on my end.  Weird that Nefmoto was literally the only site I couldn't get to...

Anyway, Here's the XDF with a few axes defined.  The procedure for adding an axis to the XDF is simple:

Look at the table for which you want to change the axis values.  For the axis in question, make note of the address, parameters (8- or 16-bit, LSB/signed), number of values in the axis, and conversion factor.  From the menu, XDF/Create New XDF Parameter.  Enter the items you wrote down in the General and Conversion tabs.  If its an 'X' axis, enter the number of columns in the 'Columns' tab "Number of Columns" item and '1' in the 'Rows' tab "Number of Rows" item.  Vice versa for a Y axis.

The axis values will now show up as a 1 x whatever table and you can change values as with any table.

Oh, and I wager eventually you won't bother reorganizing.  It becomes second nature after a while, at least the more commonly used items.

Thanks very much. With that info, I can now see how to do it myself. I have been organizing that R xdf into something easily gone through.

I thought it was Odd the KFMIRL was not there either. Seems like it matches the S box file though. I added it now.

Positive feedback given.

It may not be the same issue , but sometimes transfering maps with winols from 1 file to another ,
causes a faulty .bin
I have encountered it a couple of times.
The car just cranks ,no start (no cks issue or anything,no DTCs )

What I do is do a fresh file from scratch from the .ori

My Issues just turned out to be S box flashing issues. R has worked fine since then. Just spent a bunch of time organizing the xdf into something easily usable. Thanks for the input tho.
