You need to open the ecu, then desolder the 000 resistor shown in the attached picture. After that, bootmode as normal. Also attached is the file that I read

Cheers. The attached picture I believe is corrupted. Once the 000 resistor is desoldered. Do I leave it off

No need to put that resistor back on either.

cheers mate
i have this picture of my documents here.
I know as you said i can desolder the resistor. But do i still have to solder a 1kohm resistor as show?
or do i just leave the board. place the bootpins, then read and write the ecu?
here is the picture attached sir
thanks

Once the resistor is removed it should just be a matter of grounding pin24 while powering the ecu up.

So adding a black ground cable on pin 24 as well as pin 2. To power it, read and write it to right?

Removing the resistor on some ME7.1.1 ecus actually does bad things :/ Looks like it is pretty ecu dependent

I have needed to do it, and done so with no ill effects on B6 S4, D2 S8, and C5 S6. I have never put the resistor back, nor have I noticed any issues.
That said, Nye's right.
Do not remove it on 2007 ME7.1.1 2.5 ecu's, or apparently spykers. Adding the 1k resistor might be a better choice. I leave it on while reading, not sure if you have to but that's what I've done and I tend to stick with what works.

Would also like to know if motorsportsz had success geting the ME7.1.1 into boot mode by desoldering the 000 resistor in the back.
