Is there anyone on here that would be able to make an a dumby ecu?

Dumby as in a ecu that permanently passes emissions and says everything's all good all the time?

I have a 2000 audi a4 that i've always wanted to megasquirt, but the stock computers limitations have always held me back.  I live in md which requires emissions testing, so with the standalone it would never pass.  Ideally i would want an ecu with all readiness set and that would still drive the gauges, thats all haha.  The megasquirt would run the timing and fuel control.

Is this even possible?  Something i've always wished was available....

yes. the info needed is in the forum. I just don't know where anymore. It's been so long since I read up on that.. try the S4wiki first. maybe it's in there and I am confused or maybe its in both. You don't really need Megasquirt at all, you can do everything you need in the stock ECU. Some of the fastest Audis and VWs around are running the stock ECU.

What are you actually trying to do that you think the stock ecu can't do?

I've just always thought about this idea so that I could run a standalone and use a different motor.  An ls v8 or vr6 mainly.

I'd just love to have any motor option open.

What about does anyone know how people are getting Audi v8s into a4's?  I think they use a6 ecus but I'm wondering how plug and play they are.  I've also had the idea to use this ecu and harness but connected to a gm v8.

an old friend of mine put a audi 4.2 v8  into his b5 a4. took him a while to do had to make a few things.

a much easier solution i think, is to put a vr6 into an a4. i have a guy in Atlanta that is putting a stroker vr6 into a B6 A4 and im doing the ecu work and it will passed emissions no problem all running on a 24v vr6 ecu with wiring harness.
