I pulled this out of an ECU from the junk yard.

1.8t AWP with 5 spd manual, Jetta 2002

add: The physical ECU was labeled as 032HS but had stock LP file and matching 95040 file flashed to it from the dealer.

From what I understand this is normal procedure at the dealer because the HS software has been superseded.

Will someone immo off this file please? ..or direct me to the thread which explains how, so I can do it.

Now that I have an extra ECU and a bench harness I'm reading that part in my spare time of the forum.

Thanks,
Shannon

immo off is 4 bytes including checksums. 12 and 22 should be 01. Then, decrease the checksum bytes by 1 and you're good. There is a picture in the immo section.

Don't you mean 12 and 22 should be 02?

Will you check it for me please and make sure it is correct? I'm pretty confident it is. I have flashed the attached file to the eeprom after running it through 95040sum and I still cant read off the the main file in Nefflasher. Still get that the ECU is reporting security access denied. What gives.. Undecided

You can bench flash with Nefmoto right?

Thanks for the confirmation jogtx16v! now I have to figure out how to get this ECU to let me read/write to it on the bench. I have tried so many times to get Nef to read off the file. It connects up to the ECU but when I click the full or fast read buttons and click OK on the next pop up. it shows in the log that security access has been rejected and disconnects. I've tried different baud rates, different sequences of changing baud rates and so on. It just won't read off the file. I guess I'll do the Galleto thing and see if it gets me where I want to be with this. right now it's just a paper weight..

From my personal experience, I nerver been able to read aww/awp 1.8t ecu with nef. For the few time I need to read/write, I use galletto in bootmode, serial # adapted to my blue kkl cable.

Thanks for sharing! Makes me feel like I'm not the only one having this issue. I can flash my ori HSbox ECU in car no problem with Nef, but this junk yard ECU I'm trying to bench flash isn't letting me, I can do everything in Nef but read/write. I just now am sitting down to configure galetto and all that after I hit send here.

add: Galletto took care of it!
