Is there a definite number of parameters?

In regards to what are you referring to? A definite set of tables in a bin/xdf?

Yes. I assume that there is some variations depending on model, trans, etc. I guess I was wondering if there is a number of maps to define. I guess only finding the necessary ones is really needed.

There are 4000-5000 different maps in ME7.1

About 20-200 maps are modified by aftermarket tuners, depending on the project.

I am confused by your post. You said this is the wrong way but also said it is useful.  I have been reading for months.

you need to download any similar xdf (if there is no one to your ecu..)
and search new offsets of parameters and axes with hex comparing app like a Beyond Compare 3 for example
its a simpliest way
