Hi,

Before I post my ECU is a Japan spec 2.7T BES engine code, bin number is 4Z7907551Q

Can I upload this bin? Would also like to know if I should convert to bin's you have listed here: http://nefariousmotorsports.com/forum/index.php?topic=5747.0title=

And then tune using this as the base?

Regards,
Barry

Is it 6sp or tip?

I don't know of anybody who has tuned a BES, so I have no idea whether or not you can use an APB image or not!

Hi,

It is currently TIP and still in Allroad but the engine will go in to B5.5 Passat running Manual 01E box, essentially a S4 driveline. It will be installed using K04 parts etc, and hopefully also running an E85 map when at the track.

Hopefully I can work out if we can tune this ECU to at least help the forum(I am very new to this in depth tuning so trying to learn fast). I may aswell try the APB image I suppose then at least we know...

I will try tomorrow to load the file in as supplied in the link. I assume  551N (Euro) is my best bet.

Edited:

Having done some more forum searching I am worried about flashing with the 551N code and then immobiliser no longer working? Obviously I will have immob issues once moved to the Passat but I had hoped to defeat this later. Should I be flashing in a .bin that doesn't require Immob matching?

Regards,
Barry

Don't even attempt to pull/read your file until you have done more research in the immo forum.  You run the risk of locking up the ecu, so be ready for that.

Yes, especially if BES is ME7.1.1 (which seems to be the case). You cannot use a APB file on it.

Have you compared your 4Z7907551Q to the 4Z7907551R/N by looking at it using the 4Z7907551R XDF?  If it matches up, you can tune using your existing file as the base, or switch to the 551R or 551N.  If you tune using your Q you have a greatly reduced (but not eliminated) chance of locking yourself out.  Do figure out immob first regardless.

Don't know about your Q (or the N for that matter) but the 551R is used for both Tip and 6MT applications.

Very good idea, thanks will give that a go this evening. Assuming I can locate the 4Z7907551R XDF.

I have already pulled the original file and ECU certainly not bricked, so that's a good start!

I will update my findings.

Here's a 551 R XDF that has served me well.

ME7.1.1

Make sure to use either 551R, or 551N.

I believe the 551N is manual correct? I am at work at moment so can't check the files.

I may try and flash the 551R in to the Allroad just now and ensure all is ok. That way I know to you the manual file once moved in to the Passat.

551N and 551R have multiple variants for coding. A6/Allroad and auto/manual. Either file would be fine.

Thanks so much, will try one before removal and be sure. If all else fails I can then fit a 551N or R ECU later I suppose.  Grin
