i dont plan on doing this, but was curious as to how it would be done? ive seen its a "trick" in the ecu, but thats all the info i could really find.
thanks for any info/ideas!

Not familiar with MED9 at all, but in ME7 it involves limp mode.

Im going to try MAFLESS over the weekend. (using 80mm intake)  MED9 MAF scaling is a little trickier than ME7 as its not linear and if you get it wrong you will have all sorts of issues, crap drive-ability, throttle cut and poor idle. It can be done but it takes time.

It is not something really different than ME7 just unplug MAF and kill the fault_class... But you have a very smaller and inaccurate map to make it perfect and I am talking about FKKVS!

Becareful on injection timing as when you go on MAFless on MED9.1 the injection timing changes and I mean when the injectors open and close... Don't be surprised if you run out of fuel earlier with same high fuel pressure settings

cheers,
Fotis

Good info Fotis. I briefly tried MAFLESS and it was ok but figured using the MAF was much nicer and actually easier. Using an 84mm Intake pipe, perfect idle and -/+ 1% Lambda control at WOT

Keep torque monitoring tables in line (don't just scale your load axis in IOP without rescaling KZFWOP/OP2 or your estimated torque will be under what it should be), you could do fine tuning in KFWDKMSN/KFMSNWDK if your that far off in mafless fueling then clean it up on FKKVS.

I have done this myself on MED9.

Have you tried without changing KZFWOP/OP2? Some report that this makes no difference when changing the KFMIOP axis.

I have a lot more stable idle and engine working when I tune on MAFless, especialy when I have to calibrate 100mm MAFcase as the air flow speed is very low at idle with that huge case!

I think im going to have to switch to MAFLESS. Fotis, as you said with a 100mm pipe the airspeed is low, ive got it almost perfect with the MAF but it occasionally has an angry moment.

So just kill the fault codes? (ill need to find them)
Make injector adjustments via FKKVS
What about fuel pressure maps? How are these affected?
Anything else?

Older topic, but could anyone share why this is the case and where one might look to correct it?

I've been looking into this a little more and there are several groups in my med9 DAMOS that are related to injection angle... however, came across another interesting map:

KFMSNWDKVP, or mass flow by throttle angle and pressure ratio.

Is this the map the ECU uses to calculate charge with MAF disconnected? There are some related maps using the same axis that might need changing too. What are correct axis units? Pressure ratio in my files goes from 0 - 0.95 with throttle angle 0 - 70%. Any help is appreciated.
