Hi all;

This is my first post, and I am fairly new to all this. But have been spending a lot of time researching the process behind it and feel fairly confident in ME7x ECU flashing.

Basically, my car is a 2002 1.8T 150 (AUM engine with the K03s Turbo).

After loads of research, this engine is identical to the AUQ engine code fitted to some Golf's after 2002 (inc Anni in the UK), Audi A3, Octavia VRS.etc.etc

All except the map/tune file from the factory.

At the moment, the factory flash is '06A906032HK'

Is there anything stopping me from reading/saving the current .bin and re-flashing it with a stock '06A906032DE' file which would be from an AUQ code Golf (AUQ engine code).

Thanks Smiley

Just noticed.. this question was asked in an earlier post  Embarrassed

But.. lol..

My ECU is ME7.5 and so is the map file I am wishing to flash, the ECU's essentially have all the same numbers besides the stock.bin file.

Feel I may have been a little vague in what I have asked, but I can assure you I am not just being lazy, i've done a lot of hunting around for other people that have done exactly this so..

ME7.5 --> ME7.5

Also, I am assuming I would need to turn IMMO off before I flash a different file ?

why not just tune your ori file? ..and I thought the 150 hp 1.8t came with the regular k03 and the 180 hp 1.8t came with the k03s.

I managed to (finally) get my FT232BL cable to work with Nefmoto, as my old cable gave up the ghost.

The Golf 1.8T came with 3 main engine variants in the UK;

 - 1.8T AGU (K03 Turbo, slightly different internals)
 - 1.8T AUM/AUQ (K03s, VVT)

The AUQ is literally no different to the AUM besides the stock ECU file.

I've read the original .bin Tune file from my ECU and it's 06A906032HJ (not HK as I initially said)
And will be flashing 06A906032HN.bin from the AUQ

Only thing I am unsure about now is the IMMO. Before I do anything will this need to be disbled, and if so, could anyone maybe point me in the right direction?

Thanks Smiley

Feel I am reaching the end of the line getting help with this, driving me mad!!

I did attempt to flash 180BHP 06A906032HN file (as attached) to my 06A906032HJ 150BHP Car.

But guessing the IMMO needs to be adapted as the car just turned over, but would not start.

So flashed it back to it's original.

I know I can just turn off the IMMO using BOOT Mode, but is there a way I can just adapt the attached 180BHP 'HN' file to my original 'HJ' file?

I do appreciate any help at all here.

One is likely immo-2. Use an immo-3 eeprom and then adapt the immobilizer as detailed by ross-tech (in the sticky in the cluster section).

Thanks a lot.

I replied to your PM instead of this post, i'm happy to keep everything here to avoid confusion.

My ECU is IMMO3, and I was fairly sure the stock file from the 180BHP AUQ is also IMMO3 (clearly not) but I do know later AUQ was IMMO3.

Would this process be easier if both where IMMO3?

"ddillenger:
Read the eeprom. The login code area will read FF FF. Use the right eeprom for that file."

I have my SKC but does this only apply to swapping clusters as opposed to ECU's?

Is there a way I could read the IMMO over OBD, then edit the tune I wish to flash with the login from the IMMO?

I can't be any clearer, so I will use caps.

THE EEPROM IN YOUR ECU IS NOT COMPATIBLE WITH THE NEW FLASH.

TO CONFIRM WHAT I AM SAYING, READ YOUR EEPROM. THE DATA AT 032 AND 033 WILL BE FF FF AS OPPOSED TO THE HN EEPROM WHICH STORES THE LOGIN.

USE THE CORRECT EEPROM FOR YOUR FLASH.

i'm clearly pissing you off dude.. so thank's anyway, one day i'll be an avid forum mod with several years of experience.

I don't have a bench flashing method at the moment, so bootmode flashing is not something I can easily do.

So.. it's been made very clear the EEPROM is not compatible with the tune I am trying to flash. Is there not a way I could edit the HNtune.bin to match the EEPROM already on my ECU without writing to the IMMO?

I'm not pissed off at all. Just being funny in my own way (lol).

As for editing the HN file to be compatible with your eeprom, not going to happen Sad

 Grin No worries

Right fair enough lol.

There are a few other 'AUQ' ECU numbers, such as;

06A906032MJ
06A906032DE
.etc

All of which are 180BHP AUQ

Is the reason the specific 'HN' tune I posted not compatible due to the IMMO version, or is it for reasons I think we have both gathered are beyond my capabilities?
