I have the same issue, ECU 0261203968/969 OBD2 M3.8.1
The Eeprom 24C02 chip is on the underside of the PCB under the plastic shield.

Im guessing its the same method as Mk4 golf AGU Ecu, unsolder the immo and read the eeprom. then edit.

Can anyone else confirm this please?

Yes it is proper way to deal with immobilizer - desolder, read/write, resolder. If you have proper programmer you might succeed in reading/writing without desoldering.

I did not mean any device but heard some people did it without desoldering. Desoldering PSOP8 is not that big deal for me so and I have only a Willem...

Is there a way to test it afterwards on the bench? Like channel 91 at the M3.83 ecus

Hi,

i dont think that this is the right chip. Its B57554 which is a LM2903DR IC. There is no edge/dot in it find the top and bottom.
I know that this is the spot where the early 1.8t m3.83 have the 24c02 located but on this ecu it isnt.

I hope user c11rgd will chime in here.

Okay so i got a file from another board which should work. Adaption channel 91 (immo related) turned from 0 to 1 which means immo is off.

attached both files and the before and after screenshot.
time to find out what is responsible for immo and what changed the numbers for WSC/GarageID
