Which is the easiest way with minimum machining inside the block? (Besides bore the cylinders)

Use an longitudinal TDI block? (Which one?) Would AEB head fit on it?

Which crankshafts could one use?

Custom pistons and rods is needed, that much I know.

Use the TFSi crank, can use OE rods and pistons.  Obviously the rods'll fail, but I mean the 144mm length ones.

Makes it a 2.0, can machine out to 2.1 if you wish.  Custom pistons aren't really needed sub 450 hp.

So no machining is necessary on the block? Is it the same for both 058 and 06a blocks?

So you can keep standard dimensions on both pistons and rods. What about rod ratio?

Is it a particular TFSI crank I should look for?

It's just a 1.8t Stroker.  To make it 2.1 it'll need bored.

Using the TFSI crank takes it to 2.0 though, use 144mm rods.

Google it, it's pretty common now.

Same as how I made the Polo engine a hybrid, was 1.4 block, but 1.6 crank, different rods for a slightly higher comp ratio. VW are lazy. Smiley

Yes, and I have googled about it.
But I didn't think all the info and answers were clear enough.
And when I look at 2.0 stroker kits on 034 and integrated engineering it seems those are only for the 06a/b block.

The 2.1 route needs an TDI crank and bore the cylinders of course. But which TDI crank it didn't say. (Maybe vw 2.0 TDI common rail?)

To stroke an 058 block it needs machining inside the block for clearance. And use a different 2.0 crank. (Not TFSI or TDI crank)

Almost every stroker kit uses 83mm pistons, stock block is 81mm.

This idea of mine to increase displacement depends how cheap and easy I can source an crank. I have to look around and see what i can find and go from there.

Those info is quite old. Now we have TFSI crankshafts which works in 06A blocks. I do not know about 058's but maybe you should look at ALT engine which was used in A4 B6/Passats?

It seems kind of hard to find TFSI crankshafts here.
I looked on eBay and found some for a okey price.

But I don't know if I can use which ever crank I can find or if it is only a specific crank I can use. (06a block)

For an 058 block it seems even harder to source a crank. (Can't avoid extra machining then either)

Did this on mine, TFSI crank with H section rods and wossner pistons 1781cc to 1984cc massive low down torque increase but standrad K04 cant flow enough to keep good power at high RPM though i suspect you wont be using a standard K04?
