I had some trouble reading my car, tried to read with a few different memory layouts. Finally I realized that the baud rate had to be readjusted down to read. I got a full sucessful read which I am posting here, with the 29F800BB layout.
The car wont start now, what should I try next? I could really use some help on this.

Yes, I can connect to it again. I'll go and try to reflash the file I just read.

Genius! It's alive. Thank you for your quick reply and consideration for new-guy cludges. Now on to find an appropriate XDF. Thanks again

Could you post your log file so I can see what happened? I'm wondering if your ECU thinks that it needs to be reprogrammed because I asked it to validate it's checksum during the read.

Hey Tony. This happens on the following flashes: Allroad/A6: 4Z7907551S and 551A MK4: 06A906032RN B6: 8E0910518BC

Go figure. I get one of the oddballs. Where do I find this number for my car? Is it the "Vehicle Manufacturer ECU Hardware Number" or the "Calibration Date"?

maybe stupid question but after READ did you click Disconnect ? I had an issue once....When you write it disconnects automatically , when you read it doesnt. I don`t know how this can effect the ECU , when programming is complete

Thanks for posting the log file. Very strange that reading the ECU would cause this issue. Definitely something I want to fix because most users don't expect a read to cause the car to stop working.
Things I can think of that the NefMoto software does that could cause this: -Not disconnecting after a read -Doing checksum validations before reading each memory sector may cause the ECU to think it isn't properly programmed -Not doing a checksum validation for the whole memory range when finished reading
It was also weird that you could only connect at 52800 baud. Other baud rates were rejected with a security access error. I wonder if it was the specific baud rate that worked, or if it was something to do with changing the baud rate and starting a new diagnostic session.

Its very common problem with all flashers. I know nothing about KWP etc, but from my expirience its very important to turn ignition off even after identifying otherwise you will get "programming not finished".
