Has anyone actually done this. I'm needing to add launch control to my car but the car is tuned by apr. Is there any thing I should do prior to attempting to read the flash and change it, or do we think it will be encrypted. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

None of this is a good idea.

1. You read an APR flash there is a good chance you lock the ecu down and can't drive the car anymore.
2. You can't modify an APR flash, the files are encrypted, and the checksum routines are altered.

Ugh that blows.  Well then. Guess it's the wot box after!   I would have it retuned by someone else but I don't run a meth tune and need the ability to switch my maps easily.  I have stock,91,93,100 race tune. With my setup I can run my 100 octane on 91 pump win minimal CF unless it's just 105 degrees outside.  Thanks for the advice.

theres map switching just for your ecu here on this site. POA buy a spare ecu and play with it yourself. You can make a tune that makes your apr tuned ecu feel like a joke

And how they encypt it? I mean they reflash some ecus via OBD and nobody can steal it (or almost nobody).
Ok, tuners cant calculate CS, I heard about encryption panel also... I also heard that APR, Revo etc mix code so its impossible to find changes. Is it true?

It's all moot if he has map switching, that means he has an EMCS board.

As for how they encrypt it, that's a conversation best not had.

I have MTM tuned ECU- installed encryption board. But it very easy to download flash bin using OBD connection. If any problem, than try boot mode. All protection is fake.
