So I managed to do some reading and toying around a L bin file.
I have an 01 A6 with Immo, ecu code 551 Q...  picked up a 4b0 907 551 L box to mess around on..  kinda did some experimenting around (loaded original A6 bin onto the L box and car started with the Q box file. also copied over the IMMO EEProm onto it.

went back to the L box file on the L box but for some reason I now get 2 brake booster codes, sensor and vacuum pump.  tried digging around but cant come up with anything to fix that so it doesn't show up.

is there a guide for the Q box file? (deleting the O2 sensors?)  read that the K box is what I should use but the XDF file is incomplete that I found.
Does anyone have the Notorious VR file for TIP? want to compare a known tuned file to what I have and see if I am on the right track.... Ultimate goal is a TIP STG1 or 2 setup (as my components are stock) anyone have any files for a a6 2.7t TIP that are willing to share with me?  would be greatly appreciated!

the lboxgood.bin is my crack at editing out the O2 sensors from a stock L bin.  Believe I used a 8D0907551L

the Orig A6.bin is the original dump form my 4B0 907 551 Q

Don't have access to the car atm to pull the codes, but I am getting the vacuum booster sensor and pump errors (from what I know some of the L cars had this on their brake system.

Ultimately want to be able to have an XDF file to edit my "Q" to keep the immobilizer.  did a copy clone of everything from my Q box onto the L box and everything was happy and working (Proof of concept).
I also noticed when I use the LOGIN on the L box ECU with L box File, the ECU loses comms and errors out, but login is fine with my Q box file on L box ECU (just getting login error.. whole other topic I think)..
But for now my goal is:
1) get a working DEF file for my Q box to edit out rear O2s and start tuning
2) get L box working without error codes, then compare couple tuned files to see the end product (looking for some stage 1 and 2 tuned files for 01 A6 2.7t Tip with Hitachi...

Hope someone is up for lending a hand Smiley

THanks!!

ESKONF for P1429 (copy it from your old file).

Old file as my Q backup I posted or the original L file? (don't I need a special XDF for the Q? or is the addressing the same in both for these values?)  used an M XDF file to edit the L

I am telling you what you need to do in the L-box file to get rid of the codes.

Ah gotcha!!
Might start from scratch as there are some values that don't jive, and now I have a clue of what's going on..

See that ESKONF is a set of bits that tell the ECU what I have for sensors, and looks like I missed the CDBKVS altogether :S was set to 1..

I went back and started from scratch using a better XDF file (had more comments).
the comments for ESKONF seem to be a lil confusing, some say use 207 some say use 240.. I just want the O2 and Brake pump deleted and keep SAI and EGT.

Find ESKONF in your 551Q. It will be right above KFKHFM, same as the 551L.

Copy ALL THE VALUES IN ESKONF to the 551L.

Then change CDBKV to 00.

so these are the files I am using:
tried the L but seems pretty undefined..

Got lots of items inbetween KFKHFM and ESKONF
Should I find the address with a HEX editor and change the whole section out or use TunerPro and just change the DEC value?

really appreciate this, sorry I am so inexperienced.. :S   hope that will change soon

Will that just copy over my current setup? Number is 243 (would I alter that to delete the O2? )

ESKONF is 13 bytes long, not just the two in that xdf. You need to find the entire string, and copy it over.

I can find the details for the 7 byte one not 13 bytes. Do you know a reference where I can peek at?
Want to know the starting byte, and what each set does (equipment turned on/off). There a link to this somewhere? coming up blank in searching... :S
I think I might be able to use my A6bin and pull out the ESKONF and alter the contents to delete the O2s as the brake stuff is coded out already based on my actual car.

Did find that its at 0x10C75 for the L bin and my original A6 it starts the pattern one byte after 0x10C76 so I copied the values over.  would I use Tuner Pro now with the XDF to alter the file again to delete the O2s in the L Bin file?

so started from scratch yet again, but this time it worked out for the deletes but I am still getting the brake booster error :S   zeroed out the 2 items that pertain to it, cant pinpoint what I'm doing wrong. :S

looked and copied over the ESKONF (only found one byte that differed between the 2 files).
