According to the wiki ME7 logger is not for noobs.
Some info seems to be outdated also or mixed with new info.
Can somebody please explain logger please.
As far as which one to use?
And whats needed.
Thanks

Vcds? Yes or no?
I was looking for something like romraider  on subarus.
Where you can record live data and turn it into excel tables.
That way I can share my loggs.
Thanks

Find the me7logger codeplex project Steve's working on. It's stickied here somewhere, probably in the datalogging section.

Why you said that Nyet? Many tuners use VCDS for logging.

No ME7.1.x tuner users VCDS for tuning.

Today I tried my autel scanner and works pretty good and can record live data. The only problem I encounter was that the fuel trim was moving slow.  But I think its because Its a narrow and ecm.
Also rosstech suggest peak maf g/s is 80 times the horspower of the vehicle. Its that acurate?
Ex 150 hp 1.8t 80 times maf = 120g/s peak.

VCDS: No don't bother. While VCDS is great, logging is not exactly its strong suit.

Just use ME7logger. Its not hard to use at all. It will record all the live data you want at a far better sample rate than VCDS. If you want excel tables you can just import the .csv file into excel and go from there. Personally I use Nyet's excellent ECUxPlot for sharing logs. Skip using excel for that...

I put together some videos that cover a few aspects of ME7Logger.  The videos are here:

http://www.myaudis4.com/moodle/

If you're asked to login you can do so as a guest and still see everything that is there.

What you are looking for is under Courses > Tools Used in Tuning The ME7 Software > ME7Logger Section

It should give you an overall idea of the basic process for using ME7Logger

VCDS is good for logging some things, but a lot of variables at a high sampling rate is not what it does well.

IF you can, use me7logger. unfortunately it wont work on med9, so i use VCDS. its just a slow way to go about it. and your options are very limited compared, but its obviously better then no logging at all.
