Hi Folks,

Let me introduce myself, i´m Thomas from Frankfurt in Germany.

I have a problem coding my ECU. The last month i made a V8 swap into my 97 B5 Avant. I thought it would be possible to code the ECU to manual trans because the S6 was also available with MT ( not as the normal 4.2 V8 ). But every time i try to change the coding it wont work and the original coding appears again.

Can someone help me with that problem? I also try to code out the SAI and the elektric motor mounts, but i have no idea how it will work.

Thanks for reading.

Best regards, Tomy

I've never succeeded with this on C5 cars. You'd probably be better off just flashing a manual file.

Hi,

Thanks for your answer.

Can i use the file linked in this thread?

http://nefariousmotorsports.com/forum/index.php?topic=4296.0

Should i use the S6 MT File or the A8 360HP File vom ddillenger? Is it possible to flash the 360HP Image on the ECU to get the 20 extra Horse Powers?

This topic is new for me, so im sorry when i ask questions that were asked many times before.

Thank you.

You need to post your original file before ANYONE can tell you what to do.

Thanks for your info. I got the 559D file here in the forum. If i post it here, can you remove the SAI?

I posted a partial xdf for that binary a few weeks ago. That shows the location of ESKONF. I haven't had the chance to figure out which byte does what but at least You know where it is.

If DD has some knowledge of the contents of ESKONF, I'd love that information too.

Waaat  Huh

I'm really glad You told that to me now. Real potential here for one of those FML moments if I'd used days or weeks and found out afterwards Smiley

Hello Hopsis,

I found your XDF File in the Definition Files. But i cant find the bit to disable the SAI.

Another question to you hopsis: is the rev limiter in the 6th gear set less than 7200 RPM? I read something like 6400 rpm. If the engine has enough potential to run in the rev limiter at 6th gear it might be possible to set the limiter up to 7200?

Today i will try to find something about XDF files and try to find the SAI bit in your XDF file.

You need to research how ESKONF works. There is good information on SAI delete @ s4wiki. I haven't done it myself yet and the way things are looking, don't have the time to do it anytime soon.

I'm not completely sure about the 6th gear rev limiter but I think that's how factory governs the 250km/h max speed. I don't see why You couldn't change it. That theory could easily be tested though. Drive the car at 3200rpm with the 6th gear, speedometer should show very close to 125km/h if I'm right. Assuming the tire sizes are original, no clutch slip etc of course.

Hi Hopsis,

I thought ESKONF is for the Ignition? The SAI normaly has nothing to do with the ignition.

Sorry but im really new to this and its really hard to understand how this all works. I knew how to use a screw driver very good and also diagnosis isnt really new for me, but this is something new.

No, You got something wrong. READ -> http://s4wiki.com/wiki/Tuning#ESKONF <- READ

Not trying to be a dick by not helping, I haven't decoded ESKONF myself yet so I don't have any answers ready. That being said, if You downloaded the 4D0907559D I uploaded here, it is from my own car and the ESKONF configuration is possibly different from what You have in your car. That file has the rear O2 sensors disabled for example.
