Hi I have a efh ecu and cannot read it via boot mode I have seen on the net that these ecu's are very hard to bench.Can anyone help me as I don't want to pull the chip.I have connected all cables correctly even the can lines.I have gone hrought he process of pin 24 then 12v hold for 3-5 secs the remove pin24.
It always comes up with error booting ecu,I have tried with m ktag(slave) and my mpps master(original) and still the same any help appreciated sorry if this is an old topic but new to me,

No i dont think so mate..

When you got a BFH MK4 or BUB MK5 ecu, pin 21 = Power, pin 121 is earth trigger for N156 solenoid.

From both ecu's the same..

Be careful..

I have read the topic and it says 12v power to 121 or have I read the topic wrong.This is why I like to check.

That thread is talking about a me7.5 1.8t ecu, not a me7.1.1 R32 ECU. Look at the wiring diagram before you stick power up pin 121.

Oh Thanks I have looked at the wiring diagram and it is earth for solenoid that is why thought best to check.So I am none the wiser with this ecu in boot mode.Can anyone shed some light on these some one must be boot loading them,I don't want to pull the chip if I can help it all though it would have nbeen done days ago,

Hi I finally got the ecu to read on the bench by removing the 000 resistor but do I have to reinstall the resistor  or can it stay out,

If you can communicate with VCDS, you can leave it out. If you can't, reinstall it. I have never needed to put it back, but Nyet did.
