Not a dumb question at all, the -r option is a bit funky:

When generating CSVs, you can add information from other (additional) .kps that have matching maps.

When converting to .xdf, you can't use the -r option.

That means that mapdump can generate kp to csv too??? or are you talking about WinOLS csv export function that can add comments???
