Hey everyone,

I am running into a problem with a flash tune from a reputable company.  They have been really good thou and are investigating the problem.  I just thought I would post it on here to see if anyone has encountered a similar situation and knows the answer to the problem.

Car:
  • VW Golf GTI AGU - ME 3.8.3 Drive by cable
  • ECU: 06A 906 018 CH
  • k03s turbo
  • Stage 2 tune file

Scenario:
With the standard stock file, I have no faults listed in the engine module and my cruise control works.

Once the stage 2 tune file is applied, I lose my cruise control and the following error appears:

Quote
16989 - Internal Control Module: ROM Error
P0605 - 35-00 - -

Apart from the loss of cruise control, the car drives really well.

Does anyone have any thoughts as to what the error might mean and why I have lost my cruise control?

Thanks.

Checksum error in your Stage2 File.

Cruise Control gets disabled when a serious error is present, which is an rom error.

Thanks for the reply!

Are there multiple check sum values? Or is there only one main checksum in the bin file?

I am assuming that since its a custom tune, Winols would not be able to verify if the checksum is correct?

There is one standard Bosch checksum inside.

Ols with correct module can build a correct checksum even over a jpg if you want to flash that to your ecu Wink
So no Problem for your file.

Post your file under checksum request section, i guess there you can get help.

Wrong oem file used...

Example use 018cg instead of 018r
