Hello there,

This might not be the right section, but I'm gonna put it here because it's a bit of a problem, and I'm not sure how to fix it.

Basically, running the 064 on the 1.8t, which is, btw, a lovely, lovely turbo.  It's lovely and torquey down low, and produces lovely power up top.

The problem is, I'm running dangerously lean.  I've set knock fuelling very rich, to try and combat any damage that I might cause, but I want it fixed.

I'm running 630cc Bosch injectors, 3 bar FPR, brand new Sytec fuel pump.

KRKTE: 0.05495
TVUB: 0.7521 @ 14.v
          1.1575 @ 12.v

It's holding boost as I want it, but I can't dial in timing because I can't get fuel to follow.  Trims are good (within 2%).

Attached is the log, you can see it gets dangerously lean as RPM climbs, so I'm not sure if the pump is weak, or if it's tune.

Log supplied is from ME7Logger!

Thanks for any help! Smiley
Adam.

You are out of injector. Look at your duty.

Also, if you really want to run past the map limit (your boost is obviously way over), you should be running a 5120 hacked file.

At minimum you should be logging ps_w to make sure you aren't maxing it out.

It's running past the MAP limit, I noticed the other day!

It'll throw the TC light if I do a hard pull in >3rd, says MAF limit reached.

I saw the duty though, but Dan reckoned that it was tune, rather than hardware.  I obviously saw injector at 100%, but with 630's at 100%, surely should flow more than plenty for 360 brake?

Tempted to get a 4 bar reg.

With what dyno? Tongue  I'd need to get a gauge or get a dyno! Sad

Wait.

If I max ps_w then fueling loses the plot?

So if I pull boost back, fueling should follow what I've asked?  I'll go log ps_w, but I know I'm gonna be beyond it.  Was hitting 26 psi the other day in 5th, so I know it's gonna be over!

Not just fueling... all sorts of stuff goes sideways.

I'll start with pulling back boost if it's going above ps_w but I can guess it is! Thanks.

Hopefully that brings fuelling Nd therefore knock into control!

You want to remove some timing too, seems as soon as it starts retarding -6-12 or more degrees the fuelling is getting really noisy and spikey, detonation will show as a fast lean mixture on a wideband.

You can see from around 1000rpm to 3000rpm and up to -3 degrees cf, the fuelling isn't spiking lots. Until it hits -6 degrees cf @3500rpm then shit gets spikey.

If you need more base fuel pressure you can tap the top of the current fpr down to increase the base pressure. Can make that 3bar reg 3.5bar and gain a little head room on the inj duty

That will bomb the fuel pump though if that's the problem.

You aren't looking for "boost above ps_w", you're looking for maxed out boost pressure or maxed out ps_w.
