Hi guys,

I successfully read the ecu using a blue ebay cable and nefmoto, now the car wont start.

Things we tried:

-Flashing the file back on the ecu, was successful, still no start.
-Checksum came back OK

Car illuminates the cluster lights when turned to ON position, door lock pump cycles, but it wont roll over starter. Also if it matters the radio wont turn on either.

What are my next steps? Any help would be appreciated.

nailed it, turns out the battery died. Cars alive again.

Any reason i shouldnt flash while charging the battery? Im concerned about it dying mid flash now.

You can flash with the car charging, in fact it's advised.

I really appreciate how responsive and helpful this forum is. You guys rock.

So i've been reading like crazy. Im attempting to get my 2000 b5 S4 manual to pass etest. Car has miltek catted downpipes and 4x new'ish 02 sensors. Ive had cat efficiency codes since i installed the downpipes. I also have bum egt sensors. Currently ive tried setting TABGSS(S) to 1229, so far no cell, but faults still show in vagcom.

As far as i understand, the best route is to flash my Abox to mbox coding so i can properly manipulate the secondary O2 coding.

This means recoding the mbox hitachi maf tables to my bosche maf and something about esp and the cluster?

Should i buy a hitachi maf? Any advantage?

Are there open source stage 2 tunes out there?

We moved away from the generic posted tunes, instead opting to work on community projects.

As for the MAF, neither is better/worse. To use the M-box all you have to do is change CW_CAN_R to 0, and copy MLHFM/MLOFS/KFKHFM from the A-box. No recoding of the cluster required, or recommended.

As for your o2 codes, I suggest reading the wiki:

All you need is CDKAT, CWDLSAHK, and CLRHK. Alternatively you can use AHKATMX, AHKATS, and AHKATSB in conjunction with CLRHK, but that's more advanced.
