Too Old for this..... subtract 100

« on: February 07, 2015, 04:38:22 PM »

Sirs

I need help!

I bought a second hand AEB engine from a car breaker. The engine was missing the fuel pressure regulator.

My questions are:

-Can anyone tell me what fuel pressure I should try to start with? I have bought an adjustable regulator.
-Is the IMO disabled? If not disabled can anyone please modify the .bin file so I can burn it back to the eeprom with disabled IMO?
-What do you think the output is from this engine?

Engine data:
------------
-AEB with mech. trottle, not el. controlled.
-Turbosx blow off valve.
-ECU BOSCH 8D0 907 557, 0 261 203 550/551 with AM29F010B-JC70 EEPROM (PLCC32)
-Injector BOSCH 0 280 150 447, 572, 060 (stock I think)
-Turbo GARRETT ODM 36429, 472569-5015S (ATP Eliminator kit?)
-Hi flow cast iron ex-manifold
-Front mount large IC
-3" exhaust with test pipe.

.bin file from chip attached

Please advise.

If I remember right, 1.8T AEB uses a 4Bar FPR.

Immo is located in a serial eeprom, 24C02 IC, near main processor.

All depends of tune it is using. According to the specs you have indicated, that is a GT2871R turbo, that is a very capable turbo.

But with OEM injectors is a bad idea.

For injectors I would say at least 550cc dual spray pattern, 440cc could work, but it would at it limit or doesn't allow you full boost capabilities. Best bet is that you do your math according to BHP desired.
About Immo I forgot that it is an much older style ECU. It should be an small 8pin IC labeled B58258 in back face of ECU. You will need to desolder, work it and solder it again for immo off.
About bin, let me have some more time to look at it, sorry.

Please test it. Also bin file seems to be a modified one, but I don't have a detailed definition for it to look all deep info & maps.

Just ordered 10 ea. 24C02 eprom's,

I am looking for a hot air soldering station (220 Vac). Do you have any solder station to recommend? I want quality for money, second hand is OK for me, if high quality and superior condition.

-What kind of soldering paste is recommended to use in ECU's?
-what kind of flux fluid is recommended in ECU's?

My vision is getting worse too Angry so I need some magnifying stuff to be able to see what I am doing. I need advice on good magnifying equipment with light too (220 Vac)............ so I may be able to see what I am doing Roll Eyes

Recommendations appreciated.
