I was messing with the 95040 EEPROM, basically copied a IMMO defeated EEPROM from one of my ECU's that i had laying around. Flashed it to another ECU and car now starts and runs pefectly so far, no faults, etc.

1. Turns out the EEPROM that I copied was an IMMO2 EEPROM, and the car is an IMMO3.
2. When I ran EEPROM tool to check the file, it came back with X's for VIN and IMMO id which made me realize the car was an IMMO2 car.
3. The EEProm tool says checksums are not ok. but the car runs, and hasn't thrown any faults yet.
4. EEProm tool also says immo is on, but the car it was swapped into starts with the new ECU without any faults or immo issues.

Any input? Should I process that file with EEPROM tool to fix the checksum eventhough its not giving me issues. Or
process the file and compare both with hex editor for changed bits?

Thank You

There are some known issues with 95040tool and immo2 eeproms - one day I'll have a spare day to fix it.

What ECU bin are you using? Is it immo2 or immo3? or no immo?
