Hello. Last year i had an accident with my A3 that was total damage. Now, i`m more ready than ever to rebuild, but will not be a street car anymore (i have 3 other cars for street).
My goal: ~500 bhp on 98 gasoline or E85.
Part list: * BOSCH EV14 1000cc injectors * Walbro 255lph fuel pump * FMIC * Hybrid Turbo T04E (any other suggestions for cheap turbo will be welcome) * Exhaust mainfold with T3 flange * JE pistons * H-Beam connection rods * S3 or bigger brakes * Brand new haldex clutch * Ceramic SMF clutch * EGT sensors on each cylinder
My engine code is AJQ (small port) should i search for a big port head or is fine the small one too for <500 bhp?
My real question is for software. i have a ME7.5.1 ecu (032AF), with 512K of flash. Are there maps enough for right tune? * KFKHFM * KFZWOP/KFZWOP2 * KFZW/KFZW2 * MLHFM (probably will need bigger MAF) * KFMIRL * KFMIOP * KFPED * KFPEDR * KFLBTS * FKKVS * LAMFA * KFLDIMX * KFLDRL * KFTARX * LDRXN/LDRXNZK * KRKTE * KVB * NMAX/NMAXDZ/NMAXNL/NMAXOG * CDKAT * TABGBTS (can`t find this, but i have time while building mechanical part)
Also, what type of MAP sensor can be fitted to read extra pressure?
Thank you in advance.

Those maps are not nearly enough. Big port head is much better. You will be able to run lots more timing on it too.
Turbo you can go for HX35 Super. 750-800 EUR for brand new one. On E85 I have made 570hp from it on 2.2T engine.

I was under the impression the smaller port did better tq-wise off boost. Can you elaborate why the big port allows for more timing? Also, over the whole rev-range, or only up top?

Great question, I was just asking the same thing for my build.

Just about every map mentioned in the s4wiki will have to be changed.

Can't be done w/o the 5120 hack

Not entirely true. You can log voltage and convert it by hand to get boost over the ecu limitation for logging.

Yes, i`m aware of that... i`ve read almost all pages here about 1.8T tuning from 2013 until today and S4Wiki. Project will start most probably on july or august, so i have enough time for sw research. @ddillenger, can you explain a little bit more what you just said?

@ddillenger, can you explain a little bit more what you just said? You can log higher boost, but the ECU won't know what to do with it.

In all fairness he asked about READING higher pressure. I was just splitting hairs

I don`t care if i can read 300 psi if I can`t do any calculation in ecu with that value

Whole rev range, big port head has better design I guess.

Thanks, prj. I think getting a rough list of what maps should be needed for common bt setups would be great. I've had a chance to compare a few of the big names and there are definitely some similarities, and some of the maps just look like they were changed just for the sake of changing them, but I am no expert. You can also see what certain tuners knew (or didn't know) back when they originally made the files when ME7 was new-ish. That I find interesting for sure. There are definitely more than a few ways to skin that cat. Unfortunately I think the guys that really know what's up probably won't be too keen on listing what maps get changed.
