My car is cutting out under high load, usually WOT. I don't know if it's misfiring or cutting fuel. It only does it sometimes. Sometimes its pulls to redline just fine.

Attached is a good pull log, two bad pulls, and my tune

After looking at the logs, I noticed it's requesting a ridiculously low AFR (like 0.35) when it happens.

I'm running OEM RS6 Turbos, Bosch 550cc EV14's, RS4 MAF housing. Thanks.

I believe it's a 90mm aluminum elbow with an open element AEM dry filter. Its hooked to the 84mm RS4 housing with a reducer.

Try to ignore how dirty it is http://imgur.com/TTs8Hev

I should also mention that it's not throwing any codes

Likely misfires. Log them. Get a wideband and you'll likely see it there as well. Also, log nb O2 voltages, you'll probably see them there too.

If it is misfiring, do you have an idea of what would be causing it? It just seems weird that a majority of the time it's fine.

Nevermind. This seems informative.

The best way to find to find a misfire on a 2.7t is to read MVB ( messure Value Blocks ) in this order...

1. BLOCK 32-- ( FUELING ) adaptations should be no more / less than 10% ever !

2. BLOCK 111 -( TURBO )  adaptations should not be more / less than 10% .  If over 10% you might have a boost leak or dying N75

3. BLOCK 93-- ( CAMSHAFT ) adaptation should be never over 12%. perfect would be 4% or less.

4. BLOCK 14,15,16 ( MISFIRE COUNTER ) it should never be over 5 misfires per minute ideally. More than 55+ will set a MIL / CEL

TIPS : ...If the fueling is in the negitive around -12% or lower (  I.E -13% ..,-15% ..,-25%)  in MVB 32 and the turbo adaptations are over 10-12+% or more ....you have a boost leak . or a real crappy tune  Grin

... ----->If you have EGT fault codes that too will give you crappy performance and missfires..<----

... -----> the camshaft correlation timing has to be good other wise that too will give you misfires ( MVB 90 , 91, 92 , 93 ) MVB 93 is the important one.

 Other things that cause misfires

.... injector dwell is crappy or dying injectors
.... intake manifold gasket
.... combie valve stuck open
.... low fuel pressure
.... bad fuel pressure regulator
....  ***** plug gap is over .028" *****<<<<-------------!!!!!!!
.... the ignition units are junk ( POS / ICU )
.... *****clogged fuel filter ***** <--------!!

I hope this helps
Lee

....

I do have a wideband, but I didn't log it. I'll see if I can get another log with misfires and O2 voltages. Not sure why I wasn't logging misfires while trying to diagnose a possible misfire.

Plugs, coilpacks etc. Same old misfire story.

not sure why those aren't on the list you quoted, it is by far the single most stage 3 s4 problem.

I'll check everything out as soon as I have time. I do have a set of FSI coil adapter and ICM delete cables I got off a friend cheap in case I ever had to replace the coils.

Anyone know of the cheapest place to buy OEM FSI coil packs in case that's what it is.

Six OEM coils can be had from USP Motorsports for $158 shipped.
Six Driveworks brand coils can be had from Advance Auto Parts for $80 shipped.
Six BWD/Intermotor brand coils can be had from Advance Auto Parts for $94 shipped.

Could also be large boost leak or DV failure

Cyl3 misfire. No idea why it only counted one, it looks a LOT worse than a single misfire.

Check coilpack, plug, injector. Also recheck your DVs and pressure test intake.

Will do. I have set of Bosch Side Fire's that I swapped out that I may throw back in. I'll move the coils around too. DV's should be good, I've got bailey's. I'll pressure test too.
