Hey guys!

Is there a way to change a 512KB C-Box against a 1024kb D-Box
in a ´99 S4?

In my opinion the connection to the dashboard isn´t CAN in the C-Box, or is it?

Can I get the D-Box running in this car whitout problems?

Yes, you can run the D-box without problems.

If you go for M or G-box you will need to make some changes

So the D-box is interchangeable with cars equipped with c-box?

AFAIK C is IMMO 2, D is IMMO 3, I wonder if all the people suggesting this here have ever actually tried it...

In addition to above, D comes with ESP or without, and iirc with both analog clock and digital.

C comes with digital and analog, D comes only with digital.
There is also 2 types of digital cluster with different part number. Earlier one has IMMO2, later one has IMMO3. Also earlier one has analog rev signal, later one has rev signal via CAN from ECU.
Look totally identical on the outside...

D box will also throw an Airbag module fault code on a C box car, apart from everything else mentioned by Palle and prj. that's from someone who has run D box ECUs in a whole bunch of C box cars

I have no logs because I have a boost gauge (makes things easier)

Yeah, crash signal comes via CAN vs via dedicated wire, but luckily there is a config switch for that.
