Hi there,

I was wondering what the differences were between a ME7.1 and ME7.5 ECU. Both are from a Ibiza Cupra.

The reason I'm asking is because of this topic:
http://nefariousmotorsports.com/forum/index.php?topic=1675.0title=

The chip I'm trying to flash in my ME7.5 has an EPK with 7.1 stated.

I do not know if I would have any trouble writing it.
Don't want to brick  Grin

Thank you in advance!

IMHO you should try to build your own tune (using your stock file as a base) even using values from stock Cupra tune. That way you can get even more then stock Cupra power/torque level safely and understand how your ECU works doing that.

You're absolutely right. Thank you for your answer.

Problem is though that my base file has a crap definition file / map.
The Cupra R (and AQX engine) definition file I have is far more elaborated.

I would like to continue on that Cupra R tune because it would be far more easy for me because I won't have to search all the maps.

Do you think there is a chance I'll brick the ECU when writing the R tune?
As stated in the topic the engine codes / hardware is the same.

Thank you for your help!

Noone told DIY way is simple Wink

Defining your file on your own is good way to understand how the ECU works and possibly will help you to tune it better.

Haha  Grin

Thank you for your help. I have chosen your path and I've tried to identify as many maps as I could.
I have overwritten all found maps with the Cupra R values.

Would you mind checking if I have missed any maps?

These are the maps I have 'updated' and which have actually changed.

KFMIRL
KFPED
KFMIOP
KFZWOP
KFMIZUFIL
KFMIZUNS
TANSMN
TMNSMN
KFZW
KFFDLBTS
KFLBTS
KFMLDMX
KFTARX
KFTARXZK
LDRXN
LDRXNZK

I'm getting somewhere.. slowly.. Grin

I am not an expert in tuning those ECUs but if I were you I would double check also (all of those are mentioned in S4Wiki):
 - KFLF
 - LAMFA, ZKLAMFAW/ZKWLAFWL, TLAFA
 - CWLAMFAW, KFZWWLRL, FZWWLRLN, KFZWWLNM
 - KFLAMKRL, DLAMTANS, KFLAMKR
 - TABGBTS
 - KFLDHBN
 - KFLDIMX, LDIATA, KFLDRL

Alright, I have compared a standard AQX file with the Cupra R file and have double checked all the maps that were changed between the two.

Below are the maps that have changed.

Code:
KFMLDMX
KRKTE
SVZ06MFUW
KFFDLBTS
KFLBTS
KVB
LDRXN
LDRXNZK
KFMRES
KFMRESK
KFMIOP
KFZWOP
KFPED
KFMIRL
TNSC
SWP08OPUB
KFMIZUFIL
KFMIZUNS
KFMIZUOF
TANSMN
TMNSMN
FKKVS
NZWV08_UM
SPSNV08_UM
KFZW
KFDZK
KFSWKFZK

I have changed my AYP file to incorporate all the maps that were changed.

Please see attached the AYP ME7.5 file  Grin
Hope to help someone with this.

I have tested the file and is working perfectly! Enjoy!

Looking at the changes I am not sure if both engines uses same injectors (as KRKTE and KVB are different). If I were you I would revert both to your file's stock values.

Yeah, you're right. The injectors of an AQX engine are smaller.
I have an AYP though. That was the thing and is why I opened this topic.

AQX - ME7.1 smaller injectors (280?) 156hp
AYP - ME7.5 bigger injectors (320?) 156hp
AYP Cupra r - ME7.1 bigger injectors (320?) 180hp

I wanted to know if I could chip a me7.1 file into a me7.5 ECU.
I have the middle one in the list.
I ended up using the values of the maps instead; as you suggested. My KRKTE is the same as the Cupra R, same values.

So basically I have a Cupra R now, with a ME7.5 ECU instead of a 7.1.

It was my mistake - I missed the part that those differences you listed are between 2 ME7.1 files not your ME7.5 file and stock Cupra R file.

Now it is time to improve fueling and ignition and to raise load request and limiters Cheesy

Haha you're right! I think that is one step too far now, but will improve with time  Grin

At least I know the maps that need changing!
I just extreme them out a bit more!

Thanks so much for your help.
