I need to purchase some 95040's..I looked them up online, and it seems they are offered in two diff clock speeds (5mhz and 10mhz). Can I use either? Here is a link to what I believe are the correct eeproms.

I kinda need a few in a hurry as my car is down, and I loaned my original ecu to a friend who needed it worse than I do. I have a few extra ecu's without eeproms, and I'm hoping to cobble one together Grin

I did not look at the parts description, but I know that the ME7
uses a clock frequency of 1Mbps on the synchronous serial interface
to read/write the EEPROM. So the 5MHz variant should be sufficient,
if this is the supported clock frequency.

Supposing there is little difference in price, 10mhz would be better, or work just as well then?

Maybe 10MHz eeprom can be read/written faster with an external programmer,
but for this small memory it will not be a big gain. Can't say 10MHz would have
any advantage over the 5MHz version, both should work same.
