I recently performed the 24v vr6 swap bdf from an 03 gli into a 99.5 mk4 gti 12v afp- everything works, car runs great- stg 2 file with immo and all the extras- the speedo works and the odometer works great- but i am hitting the soft rev limit at 4100 rpm.... any help or ideas? some have said they don't do anything other than just swap the engine and all and it works great- others say this is common and i have called UM-$550-for theirs- i already have a tune and dont really wanna pay that much- but willing to pay half that- thanks in advance for any help or ideas

What fault codes do you have.

What exactly have you swapped? Engine with wiring harness, all sensors and ECU?

No, just post faults, and your ecu number (original file would be best).

ECU number is 022-906-032CS
2003 GLI 24v /02m swapped- full swap- firewall forward- into a 99.5 gti 12V 02j car- I re-pinned the main plugs to where they needed to be according to bentley- then did the 10a pin to 14a pin out to make everything work as it should to the body side of the car-
I see a few swaps here and there of people doing r32 motors in older mk4 cars- I just happen to have a non-can bus, early (02/99) German mk4 and its a bit of a pain in the ass. I see everyone mention it in forums, but other than UM/ C2 who does it for sub $500? ESP since I already have this ecu, immo defeat, rear o2, and sai/evap deletes, with LC/2 step. and I love my tuner, but he hasn't had this issue before.... so I'm kinda stuck. willing to pay for solution to this issue- paypal ready -

speed signal is sent from the abs module from can bus on these. i just did an r32 swap on a 2000 12v and had this same issue but it was because i had my abs module unplugged. for some reason even though the vss pin is shown in the diagrams at t121/54 it is not used. there is a patch offered by united and c2 but i have not seen it.

I would say it is not best aproach. There is another way to tell ECU to use different VSS signal source.
