I have 2 engine swaps I am working on. Both med17. One a 2.0 TSI and the other a 2.5l. Basically I am trying to run the ecu's as is no key, cluster, bcm. Do I just need to remove the immo?

From all my reading. I see there are 2 ways to remove the IMMO to allow this ecu to run on its own.

1: Remove the immo in the flash.

Change it to

F00FF4802000008212

immo is off!

There will be 1-3 times "0FF480208B022022" gets repeated. From what I can tell the 1st and 2nd instance needs to be changed to "00FF4802000008212" but I can not gather if this is EDC17 only or will work with MED17 as well. No clear answers. After downloading numerous edc/med files that have had the immo removed by others i was able to understand the flash method.


2: Remove immo from the ep2/epr.
    I was told this is the only true way to remove the immo and the flash method does not work. I have not found what needs to happen.

p.s. I know where fix immo in eeprom. But i don't know how to calc checksumm Sad

I'll test this in a buddies 2010 Golf hopefully today.  I have K-Tag....supposed to fix checksums prior to flashing.

Where is it located?

I have the car on the lift now.I pulled the cluster out to see 1k0907115al_immo off.rar would work. Gave this a try and it starts then shuts off. Pulled codes. Says no start due to Immo
