Bootmode Flash 551AA to a 551R file
« on: September 01, 2015, 03:10:09 PM »
ok, i have a friend that sent me his ecu to code out a few things. Car is a 04 S-Line A6 (4Z7907551AA) and I was able to get the code outs done via using a 551R file with help from a member on here.
Now I don;t have a bench flasher, when I do flashing or bootmode work I use the car to do it. Il didnt know the me7.1.1 where different ecu harness plugs.
I have a 2000 A6 2.7T ME7.1 and I cant connect the ecu, my buddy has a Allroad, would I be able to bootmode flash the file using the allroad? I sent all my parts for benchflasher to buddy to build me setup but never got it. He is slow getting it done cause he had a baby.
anyone be able to help me out with a solution?
thanks

Im not sure if i understand your problem 100% but you have no bench flash harness?
You have a cable and software but only the power supply and some wires are missing to power up the ecu on the table?
There are threads about it and pictures showing how to connect +, - and k-line.

I think..
His mate has an A6 that AudiMan has made a file for.
AudiMan wants to flash the file onto the ECU but has no method of doing it.
He's asking if he can connect the A6 ECU to his A6 to flash it?

Make your bench harness, too easy, I just use a computer atx power supply.
just need to cut some plastic connectores and bridge black and green wire, like this:
