Doing a MK4 1.8t AWP in a MK2 CE1 GLI - 1J0920906J

MK2 Fuel level sensor reads opposite values that MK4 does.

Here are my ORI and modified bins, as well as the XDF I made with the fuel and temp conversion and stepper tables. I've flipped the table for the fuel level conversion, and It seems to read pretty accurately in the car and with the resistance values that I've tested with. Low fuel level warning functions properly. With the stepper positions flipped, the low fuel warning comes on when full.

I didn't feel like going into the fuel tank to swap resistor boards....There is plenty of info in another thread about "tuning" clusters, which is what lead me to this, but I haven't seen any software fixes for the cluster swap, so here ya go

And here is the file with linear temp and fuel gauges, and the resistance values corrected. After filling the tank, I noticed the gauge wasn't full. oops. This fixed it.

(on this particular) MK2 Full = 50ohm and Empty = 290ohm

Thanks for sharing. I have a MK2 with a fuel cell using a MK4 cluster. I went with a company that made a custom capacitive tube based sensing system that every other ign cycle reads empty, full, or the correct level. Very annoying. I'm hoping to get this resolved soon so I don't have to drive around with an extra 5gal container of fuel in the trunk. Smiley The baffling inside the cell makes mounting a standard level system challenging.
